At the excellent JBoye08 Conference in Aarhus last week Stephen Arnold and I announced the imminent publication of Successful Enterprise Search Management. This is the first book to be written on the entire process of justifying, specifying, evaluating, selecting and implementing an enterprise search application. Stephen has already written a number of books on search, including Beyond Search, from which his blog takes its name. This year I have had the great pleasure of judging the Intranet Innovation Awards, together with Jane McConnell and Howard McQueen. The Awards were set up by James Robertson, Step Two Designs, Sydney, as a way of recognising and rewarding intranet managers who have gone that extra mile in developing a feature on their intranet that has a direct and immediate impact on business operations.
