This is a brief roundup of events that I am participating in over the next few months. Quite a bit of travelling and at the same time I'm continuing to work on several major intranet and enterprise search projects.

First up I will be in Utrecht on 8 October for the 2009 Hartmann event. This event is devised by Eric Hartmann, and will have papers on information governance, Enterprise 2.0, online marketing and the power of crowd-sourcing. I'll be talking about a new approach I'm working on to gain greater clarity on user requirements for information discovery, with a particular emphasis on enterprise search.

The JBoye Aarhus conference in early November will also have a very wide scope, with keynotes from B.J.Fogg and Marc Canter. This conference, and associated workshops, gets bigger and better every year. Delegates will have six tracks to choose from. The JBoye team are very good at balancing presentations and networking opportunities. This year I'll be giving a workshop on SharePoint 2007 governance issues, with a look towards the imminent arrival of SharePoint 2010.

In London on 10 November I am giving a workshop in selecting and implementing enterprise search applications for UKeiG. This will cover not only defining user requirements and selecting a search application but all also look at what it takes to make sure that the search application continues to meet user expectations.  

The following week I will be in Zurich, where I have been invited to give the opening keynote at the Swiss Intranet Summit. It intrigues me that a country the size of Switzerland can support a German-langauge intranet event, but there is no such event in the UK. The event takes place on 17-18 November

Enterprise search will also be the theme of workshops I will be giving in Copenhagen on 23 November for IntraTeam. Details will be available in the next week or so. Do mark your 2010 diary for the IntraTeam Intranet Conference on 2-4 March 2010

Finally comes the Online Information Conference in London on 1-3 December. This is certainly the largest conference and exhibition for the information business in Europe and attracts around 10,000 visitors each year.  I will be presenting a paper on SharePoint strategies, highlighting good practice and taking into account SharePoint 2010. There are quite a number of papers on intranets and related topics.
