There are quite a few intranet and search-related events taking place over the next few months.
Gartner Portals, Content and Collaboration Summit London 10-11 September
I'm hoping to attend this event. The 2007 event was very good, with a mixture of Gartner analysts and client case studies and first-rate organisation.
The latest thinking on optimising enterprise search London 15 September
This conference is being organised by Henry Stewart Events. The aim is to provide a broad review of enterprise search implementation and the speakers include Theresa Regli (CMS Watch), Janus Boye (J.Boye) and myself, as well as case studies from the BBC and from Dow Jones. James Robertson (Step Two Designs) will also be taking part.
Intranets for Corporate Communications Toronto 15-16 September
This event is organised by Federated Press and offers a programme of papers on a wide range of intranet issues
Intranets/KM World 2008 and Enterprise Search Summit West San Jose 22-25 September
These co-located conferences offer a wealth of papers and workshops as well as a good exhibition. Howard McQueen and I are running a workshop on intranet management best practice and James Robertson is running workshops on strategies for innovative intranets and improving the design of search.
Intranets 2.0 London 30 September
I am leading this workshop for Melcrum which will cover all aspects of implementing blogs, wikis and other Enterprise 2.0 applications. I will also be covering the benefits and challenges of using SharePoint 2007 for these applications
Intranet Governance London 9 October
Another of my workshops, this time providing guidance on how to prepare and implement an intranet strategy, supporting intranet content contributors and ensuring that an intranet continues to meet business requirements and expectations
jboye08 - The Fourth International Conference Aarhus 4-6 November
Various other commitments have meant that I have missed the last three of these conferences and I am looking forward to participating in the 2008 event. The subject coverage is broad, including intranets, portals, web site management and enterprise search. The speaker list is outstanding.
Online Information 2008 London 2-4 December
Last year this conference attracted over 900 delegates from 40 countries. The subject range is vast but there are always good papers on intranets and a track on enterprise search. There is also a very good exhibition covering both information services and CMS/search software
